Tarantula Info: This is a beautiful “red-leg” with a pale carapace with a distinctive dark, inverted triangle marking. It lives along the Pacific coast of northwestern Mexico west of the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range. It is usually docile and reluctant to bite, but possesses extremely irritating urticating hairs that it will not hesitate to use in defense when threatened. Like all Brachypelma species, it is slow-growing and very long-lived.
