Tarantula Info: This is the rarest of the ever popular genus Brachypelma, and is a highly coveted species by tarantula collectors. It is found along the Pacific Coast of Mexico (western slopes of the Sierra Madre Occidental) nearest Puerto Vallarta, from Tepic, Nayarit in the north down to Chamela, Jalisco in the south, and is best known from a biological reserve near Chamela. It is an incredibly handsome beast, dark in body, but with the lower half of its legs a gorgeous rosy-pink hue. An inhabitant of hot and humid deciduous forests, care should be taken to not keep quite as dry as some other popular Brachys.
