This “pink-toe” from Puerto Rico is one of the smallest species of neotropical tree tarantulas. Spiderlings begin life blue and similar in appearance to the blue-green spiderlings of its cousin the Antilles Pink-toe, Caribena versicolor, but as they grow they become pinkish-brown and then pale brown. This species also tends to be more ‘high-strung’ and defensive than other pink-toes. The diminutive size makes the species easy to house in small tropical terrariums that can be constructed out of glass gallon jars and similar containers.
