Recent taxonomic work separated the genus Avicularia ("pink-toes") into a handful of genera but, despite technical differences, the technicolor "Antilles Pink-toe" shares the lifestyle of all 'Avics' in that it inhabits tropical forests where it builds silken retreats referred to as 'tube socks' among the leaves for shelter.
