Tarantula Info: The Colombian Giant Redleg inhabits the rainforests of Colombia and adjacent Brazil. Despite its name, its legs are more orangish-brown with dark femurs. Combined with a dark carapace and bright abdomen hairs it is an exceptionally beautiful spider. Its hind legs are long and thick with long bristly hairs, and this tarantula has a unique defensive behavior where it will spin in circles when threatened, kicking and bucking with those long spiny rear legs.
