Tarantula Info: One of many varieties of large "bird-eating" tarantulas of the genus Pamphobeteus that has yet to be named by science, many of which like this one hail from Ecuador, "Tigris" has become well-established in the hobby and keepers have become fond of these big dark brown to black spiders. Freshly molted specimens can have purplish femurs and pink to violet markings on the carapace.
