Tarantula Info: Native to the Central Valley of Mexico’s state of Oaxaca, this spider ranges in color from jet black to brownish with a very dark abdomen, with most freshly molted adult females being uniformly velvety black. It has a medium growth-rate and thrives as a spiderling in a vial half-filled with slightly moist substrate. Adults make fabulous display spiders in naturalistic vivaria that mimic their scrubland habitat.
